Accredited Home School

One of the growing trends in education today is homeschooling. More and more adults are choosing to finish their high school or college educations through traditional home schooling or an online home school. An accredited home school is a very viable option to meet your education needs.

Completing school at home--whether it is a high school degree or college degree--may be a perfect schooling solution for you for any number of reasons. Perhaps you have a very busy schedule and need to home school at odd, irregular hours. Perhaps you simply want to set your own pace to gain an education. Whatever your reason, official high school and college diplomas are available to you in the home school format.

Interestingly, high school home schools are not officially accredited, while some distance learning programs are. In order for high school home schooling to count as official credits towards graduation for yourself or your child, you must negotiate with a high school counselor in advance to make sure they will count. You will need to provide written notice in advance of your home school intentions. Usually, this notice needs to go to your local public school district office. It is critical to obtain approval from you school district to home school--the last thing you want is to work at getting a high school diploma at home, only to find out that what you're doing is not counting towards state schooling requirements. Just check with all the local school officials to confirm your choice of schooling.
